Castlevania 64
Castlevania 64 is a game developed by Konami for the Nintendo 64 and released December 31, 1998. It is Famicon’s first attempt to bring the Castlevania series into the 3D world.
Konami chose not to stray away from the formula of its 2D counterparts with the game remaining largely a action-adventure and platforming game. The game allows users to select from several different characters to play the game through.
Castlevania also made good use of day/night mechanics with the addition of a real time clock, they used it to add certain requirements in areas depending on the time of day.
The game received mixed reviews but was ultimately praised for its change in direction and for its graphics, audio and gameplay.
