Overview
Atari++ is a free, open source and portable emulator for the Atari 5200. Like many Atari 5200 emulators, it also emulates Atari’s 8-bit home computers: the 400 and 800, and the XL and XE series. It is designed to configure itself automatically, so most games run without adjusting any settings.
Atari++ aims to be cycle accurate, reproducing the behaviour of the original hardware very closely.
This includes the bugs of the original chips, which some games and programs rely on through advanced programming techniques.
It emulates both the processors and the sound chip of these systems, and its focus on faithful emulation makes it a solid choice for the Atari 5200 and Atari 8-bit computers.
