Star Ocean 5 PS4RT is an experimental, game-specific Linux runtime for the PlayStation 4’s Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness, from HekamiAeon, the developer of Sakura Wars PS4RT. It prepares and runs the game’s original x86-64 code on the PC, supplies the PS4 services it needs, and draws with a Vulkan renderer derived from shadPS4. It is not a general PS4 emulator.
It is playable through the tested early-story sections, with town exploration, battles and saving and loading, but has not been played to the end. The release bundles its own runtime libraries, including FFmpeg and SDL3, and has been tested on Fedora.
Output can be 1080p, 1440p or 4K, reconstructed with FSR 3.1 or an optional FSR 4 rather than drawn natively, with sharpening, and keyboard and controller buttons can be remapped. The game’s own frame rate is kept. No game files, firmware or decryption tools are supplied, and the project is not affiliated with Square Enix, Sony or AMD. A Windows build by Hoverbike51 is listed here as Star Ocean 5 PS4RT for Windows.

--data-dirsupport while preserving the existing default save and settings location. - Preserved Restart Game behavior and graphics overrides.
- Improved player instructions, archive layout tests, and build integrity checks.
Features
- Original PS4 game code running through the PS4RT Linux compatibility runtime
- 1080p, 1440p, and 4K output
- FSR 3.1 and bundled FSR 4 v07 support
- Custom graphics overlay with menu sounds and Restart Game
- Live Sync/Async shader compilation toggle
- DualSense, XInput, and keyboard support
- Configurable controller and keyboard mappings
Compatibility
Tested on Fedora Linux through Chapter 4, including battles, cinematics, exploration, and saving/loading. The v1.2 launcher, Restart Game, and gameplay smoke tests passed.
A complete playthrough and broad Linux compatibility have not been verified. Sync mode favors visual consistency; Async may reduce shader compilation stutter but exhibit brief visual flickers.
