Demon's Souls

Demon’s Souls is an action role-playing game developed by FromSoftware and released for the PlayStation 3 in 2009. The player creates a warrior who enters Boletaria, a kingdom swallowed by a deadly fog, and travels from the hub of the Nexus through five worlds to defeat the demons whose souls give them power.

It is known for its demanding combat, its loss of souls on death and its online features, which let players leave messages, see others’ deaths and invade or help each other. Its design led to the Dark Souls series and the wider genre that followed.
