Ratchet & Clank
Ratchet & Clank is a third-person platformer developed by Insomniac Games and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation 2 in 2002. Ratchet, a Lombax mechanic on the planet Veldin, teams up with Clank, a small robot who escaped from a factory of war machines, to stop Chairman Drek of the Blarg from tearing pieces off other planets to build a new home world.
The game mixes platforming across around eighteen planets with shooting, using bolts collected from enemies and crates to buy weapons and gadgets such as the Bomb Glove, the Hydrodisplacer and the Swingshot. Some sections are played as Clank or in a ship, and the game started a long-running series.
A native PC port, ReRAC, is being written for it from the game’s own logic and runs the North American disc.
