Vandal Hearts

Vandal Hearts is a tactical role-playing game developed by Konami Computer Entertainment Tokyo, released in Japan in 1996 and in the West in 1997. Ash Lambert, a young officer in Ishtaria’s security forces, is drawn into a struggle over the country’s future after a revolution.

Battles take place on isometric grid maps where height, facing and terrain matter, and many maps have their own objectives or traps. Characters gain experience and can be promoted into new classes.

It was one of the first tactical RPGs on the PlayStation and was followed by Vandal Hearts II.
