ValkyrieRecomp
What you need: Both discs of Valkyrie Profile (USA, SLUS-01156 and SLUS-01179) as .cue/.bin images, dumped from your own copy.
ValkyrieRecomp is a native port of Valkyrie Profile for Windows, Linux and macOS, made by statically recompiling the game with the PSXRecomp framework and its recomp-ui launcher.
It supports both discs, optional 16:9 widescreen, OpenGL and software rendering, controllers and memory cards, and runs on OpenBIOS without a console BIOS. Discs are chosen in the launcher between sessions.
The project is a work in progress, with compatibility testing on different PCs ongoing. The author says AI-assisted tools may be used in its development. The download contains no game data. It needs both discs of Valkyrie Profile (USA), dumped from your own copy.
How to set it up
- Download the build for your system and extract it to a folder.
- Run the program to open the launcher.
- Choose your Disc 1 and Disc 2 images in the launcher.
- Pick 4:3 or 16:9 and the renderer, then start the game. OpenBIOS is used unless you add your own BIOS.
