Valkyrie Profile

Valkyrie Profile is a role-playing game developed by tri-Ace and published by Enix, released in Japan in 1999 and in North America in 2000. Based on Norse mythology, it follows the Valkyrie Lenneth, who must recruit the souls of dying humans as Einherjar and send them to Asgard to fight in Ragnarok.

Dungeons are side-scrolling platform stages, and in battle each party member is tied to one button, so attacks can be chained into combos. Chapters are limited in time, and the choices made along the way lead to different endings. Motoi Sakuraba wrote the music.
