Twisted Metal 2 Recomp

What you need: Twisted Metal 2 (USA, SCUS-94306) as a full 12-track Redump-style cue/bin set, dumped from your own disc.

Twisted Metal 2 Recomp is a native port of Twisted Metal 2 for Windows, made by static recompilation with PSXRecomp and the recomp-ui launcher. Twisted Metal 2 loads no code overlays, so the whole game can be translated ahead of time. OpenBIOS is bundled, so no BIOS is needed.

Optional mods add an in-game debug menu with GameShark-style cheats (F1) and a fix that makes the game accept the passwords it shows for Sweet Tooth, Minion and Dark Tooth. The project also documents the game’s cars, levels, passwords and memory layout.

It is an early v0.1.0: it boots and the menus and 3D gameplay work, but it has not been played through. The author says AI tools were used heavily in making it. The download contains no game data. It needs Twisted Metal 2 (USA) with all 12 tracks, dumped from your own disc.

How to set it up

1. Download the Windows zip and extract it.
2. Run TwistedMetal2_Recompiled.exe.
3. Point the launcher at your Twisted Metal 2 .cue file; the path is remembered for later launches.
