What you need: A disc image of Strider 2 (USA, SLUS-01163) as .cue/.bin, dumped from your own copy.

Strider 2 Recompiled is a native port of Strider 2 for Windows, Linux and macOS, made by static recompilation with PSXRecomp and recomp-ui. The download ships only the launcher and framework, with no game code, disc or BIOS, and the first launch builds the playable game from your own disc, which can take several minutes.

The author fixed several problems in the shared framework to get it running, including a speed bug, a stall from GPU driver overhead and a 480i menu rendering bug, and uses a patched fork of PSXRecomp. OpenBIOS is used by default.

The download contains no game data. It needs Strider 2 (USA, SLUS-01163), dumped from your own disc.

How to set it up

  1. Download the setup zip for your system (Windows, Linux, or macOS on Apple Silicon or Intel) and extract it.
  2. Start Strider_Recompiled.exe (without .exe on Linux and macOS).
  3. Use Open *.CUE in the launcher and select your Strider 2 .cue file.
  4. Select Play: the first launch generates and compiles the game from your disc with the bundled OpenBIOS, which takes several minutes. Later launches go straight to the game.
