Serial Experiments Lain

Serial Experiments Lain is a PlayStation game developed and published by Pioneer LDC in Japan in 1998, the same year as the anime series of the same name. It was written by Chiaki J. Konaka, with characters designed by Yoshitoshi ABe.

There is little conventional gameplay. The player browses a network of nodes holding voice recordings, diary entries and video clips, and pieces together the story of Lain and her sessions with a counsellor. It has four endings and was released only in Japan.
