Mega Man X6 Recompiled
What you need: A disc image of Mega Man X6 (USA, SLUS-01395, revision 1.1), dumped from your own copy, as .cue/.bin.
Mega Man X6 Recompiled is a native port of Mega Man X6 for Windows and Linux, made by static recompilation with PSXRecomp by mstan, the framework’s author. Release builds include OpenBIOS, and a retail BIOS dump is optional.
It boots into the stages with working controls, rumble and memory card saving. Its mods catalogue includes an adaptation of acediez’s Mega Man X6 Tweaks and DuoDynamo’s English retranslation, both shipped with permission, as well as experimental 16:9 widescreen; all are off by default.
The author calls it a playable preview that has not yet been verified to the end. The author says AI tools were used heavily in making it. The download contains no game data. It needs Mega Man X6 (USA, SLUS-01395, revision 1.1), dumped from your own disc.
How to set it up
- Download the Windows zip or the Linux AppImage.
- Extract the zip and run
MegaManX6Recomp.exe; on Linux, make the AppImage executable and run it. - Select your Mega Man X6 disc image in the launcher. OpenBIOS is included, so a BIOS dump is optional.
- Optional tweaks, the English retranslation and widescreen are off by default and can be enabled under Mods.
