The Legend of Dragoon

The Legend of Dragoon is a role-playing game developed by Sony Computer Entertainment Japan, released in Japan in 1999 and in North America in 2000. The young swordsman Dart sets out to rescue his childhood friend and becomes caught up in a war that reaches back to an ancient conflict between humans and dragons.

Battles are turn-based, but attacks use Additions: timed button presses that chain extra hits. Characters can also transform into Dragoons, armoured forms with their own magic. The game spans four discs, with pre-rendered backgrounds and many full-motion video scenes.
