Dance Dance Revolution 1st Mix Recompiled is a native port of the Japanese PlayStation Dance Dance Revolution for Windows, made by static recompilation with PSXRecomp. The download is a setup kit: on first run it generates C code from your disc and compiles the game on your PC, which can take several minutes.

It boots without the OpenBIOS splash, keeps audio and arrows in sync and draws the 3D dancer. The mode-select menu adds the hidden Edit and Information modes and an Exit Game item, and an Autoplay option plays songs to a perfect combo while still judging any steps you hit yourself.

The game used to freeze at random; the port now contains the fault rather than curing it, so its cause is still open. The download contains no game data. It needs Dance Dance Revolution (Japan) with all 40 tracks, dumped from your own disc.

How to set it up

1. Download the Windows zip and extract it to a writable folder.
2. Run Dance_Dance_Revolution_1st_Mix_Recompiled.exe and point the setup at your .cue file.
3. The first run generates and compiles the game on your PC, which takes several minutes and about 3 GB of space; it can download the build tools it needs.
4. Later launches start straight away.
