What you need: A disc image of Battle Arena Toshinden (USA, SCUS-94200), dumped from your own copy, as .cue/.bin with all 14 tracks.

Battle Arena Toshinden Recompiled is a native port of Battle Arena Toshinden for Windows and Linux, made by static recompilation with PSXRecomp and the recomp-ui launcher. OpenBIOS is included, and a retail BIOS dump is optional.

The launcher handles disc setup, settings and a Mods page. Optional mods add fixed 16:9 or adaptive widescreen up to 32:9, frame blending up to 240 Hz, an extra roster that makes the bosses Gaia and Sho selectable, and desperation moves at any health.

The author calls the current release stable for an early build; the game boots through the intro and character select into combat. The author says AI tools were used heavily in making it. The download contains no game data. It needs Battle Arena Toshinden (USA, SCUS-94200), dumped from your own disc.

How to set it up

  1. Download the Windows zip or the Linux AppImage (Linux needs glibc 2.38 or newer, such as Ubuntu 24.04).
  2. Extract the zip; on Linux, make the AppImage executable. Then start it.
  3. Select your USA .cue in the launcher, keeping all 14 tracks beside it so the CD music plays.
  4. Use Generate & Build when prompted, then launch the game. Enhancements are on the Mods page and are off by default.
