Sonic CD
Sonic CD was developed by Sonic Team and released for the Mega-CD in 1993. On Little Planet, Sonic runs past time posts to visit the past, present and future of each zone, trying to bring about a good future by destroying Robotnik’s machines in the past. It introduced Amy Rose and Metal Sonic.
The game used the CD format for animated cut-scenes and a streamed soundtrack, which differed between the Japanese and European release and the American one. In 2011 it was remade by Christian Whitehead on his Retro Engine for consoles, PC and phones.
The native port is a decompilation of that 2011 remaster, not the Mega-CD original.
