Kronos

Kronos is a Sega Saturn emulator maintained by FCare. It is a fork of Yabause and is open source under the GPLv2 licence, and it has been developed separately from the original project for several years.

Kronos can be built as a standalone Qt application or as a libretro core, and most people use it through RetroArch, where it is available as the Kronos core. The project’s GitHub releases provide standalone binaries for Ubuntu Linux only. Windows builds were published separately in the past. You also need a Saturn BIOS, which we cannot provide.

The last release, 2.7.0, came out in January 2025. For a newer standalone Saturn emulator we recommend Ymir, and Mednafen remains a good choice for accuracy.
