Sonic the Hedgehog
Sonic the Hedgehog is a platform game developed by Sonic Team and released by Sega for the Mega Drive in 1991. Sonic runs through six zones, from Green Hill to Scrap Brain, collecting rings, freeing animals trapped by Dr. Robotnik and hunting for the Chaos Emeralds in rotating special stages.
Built around speed, momentum and slopes, it gave Sega a mascot to set against Mario and became one of the best-selling games on the console, later bundled with the Mega Drive itself.
Native ports include a static recompilation of the Mega Drive game and the decompilation of the 2013 remaster.
