Sonic & Knuckles
Sonic & Knuckles was developed by Sega Technical Institute and released for the Mega Drive in October 1994. It continues the story of Sonic 3 from Mushroom Hill to the Death Egg, and Knuckles is playable for the first time, gliding and climbing along his own routes.
The cartridge has a slot on top: attaching Sonic 3 forms Sonic 3 & Knuckles, and attaching Sonic the Hedgehog 2 lets Knuckles play through that game.
A static recompilation runs the Mega Drive game natively.
