EKA2L1

EKA2L1 is an emulator for Symbian OS, the operating system used by the Nokia N-Gage and many other Nokia phones. It was started by pent0 (bentokun) and is developed by a small team of contributors, with a dynamic recompiler for the phones’ ARM processors.

It runs games and applications for the N-Gage and N-Gage QD as well as Series 60 phones from S60v1 to S60v3, and later Symbian versions to a lesser extent. It needs firmware dumped from a real device, and many N-Gage games are playable, including titles that use the N-Gage 2.0 platform.

The project is still active. Its last numbered release, 0.0.8.1, came out in 2022, and since then new builds have been published automatically from its development branch. There are builds for Windows, Linux, macOS on Apple Silicon and Android, plus an unsigned build for iOS that has to be sideloaded. EKA2L1 is open source under the GNU GPL version 3.
