Flashpoint Archive
Flashpoint Archive, formerly BlueMaxima’s Flashpoint, is a web game preservation project started by Ben Latimore in December 2017. It has saved more than 200,000 games and animations made with Flash, Shockwave, Java, Unity Web Player, HTML5 and many other web technologies.
Rather than a single emulator, Flashpoint is a complete package: a launcher to browse and search the collection, a proxy that makes games believe they are running on their original websites, and the players needed to run them, including Ruffle and the original Flash Player in a sandbox. This lets it run games that check which site they are on or load extra files from the web.
It comes in two editions. Flashpoint Infinity is a small download that fetches each game when you first play it, while Flashpoint Ultimate contains the whole archive for offline use and needs well over a terabyte of space. The current version is 14.0.3.
Flashpoint is built mainly for Windows, with Linux and macOS versions that need some extra setup. It is free, and its launcher is open source. The official downloads cannot currently be tracked automatically, so this page has no download archive yet. Get it from the official Flashpoint Archive website.
