This is a native Windows port of Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, made by recompiling the Wii game. It is an early build that the developer describes as already very playable, though it has only been tested on their own hardware, and its online co-op is still rough.
The rail shooter loads quickly and runs at an unlocked frame rate in native ultrawide, with NVIDIA DLSS or AMD FSR upscaling, frame generation, ray-traced shadows and HDR on graphics cards that support them. It can be aimed with the mouse, a gamepad, a light gun or a real Wii Remote, and the launcher sets the controls, graphics and saves.
Two players can team up over the internet, and mods can replace the game’s files. The project does not include any of the game and is not affiliated with Capcom or Nintendo.
How to Set It Up
- Download the zip and extract it into a folder you can write to (not Program Files). It holds
uc_launcher.exe,uc.exeand their files. - Run
uc_launcher.exe, choose your disc image and press Singleplayer: the launcher unpacks the image with its built-in Wit tool. A folder already unpacked by hand (the one that holdsDATA) can be picked instead. - Set the resolution, upscaler, frame generation and controls, and press Singleplayer, or Multiplayer for online co-op.
- The first start runs a short processor calibration and compiles the shaders, so it takes longer than later ones. In the game, Insert opens the graphics options.

Fix: the game no longer closes on its own in some scenes, and the Wii Remote aims up and down the right way.
- The game could close with an error message in some scenes. It was reported during the Tyrant fight. The game now handles an empty drawing step correctly and keeps running.
- Wii Remote with a sensor bar: moving the remote up moved the crosshair down, and the other way round. Now the crosshair follows the remote up and down as it should. Left and right were already correct.
Known limits
- The Wii Remote fix was made from a player’s report and has not been tried on a real remote yet. If up and down are still wrong for you, please tell us which sensor bar you use.
- The closing error had one known cause, and that one is fixed. If the game still closes for you, please send the “logs” folder from the game folder.
