Mario Kart Wii

Mario Kart Wii is a kart racing game developed by Nintendo EAD and released for the Wii in 2008. It came with the Wii Wheel, a plastic steering wheel that holds the Wii Remote, although it can also be played with other controllers.

It added motorbikes and mid-air tricks to the series, raised the number of racers to 12 and has 32 courses, half of them new and half taken from earlier games. Online races and battles ran through the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection until 2014, and fans have kept them going since through custom servers. It is one of the best-selling Wii games, and a large community still makes custom tracks and mods such as Retro Rewind.
