Star Fox is a rail shooter developed by Nintendo EAD and Argonaut Software and published by Nintendo for the Super NES in 1993. In Europe it was released as Starwing. Fox McCloud and his wingmen fly the Arwing fighter across the Lylat system to stop the scientist Andross from conquering the planet Corneria.

It was the first game to use the Super FX chip, a graphics co-processor in the cartridge that let the SNES draw real-time 3D polygons. The player picks one of three routes of rising difficulty, and the wingmen need help when enemies get on their tails.

A native port built from the game's assembly source runs it on PC, Mac and Android at high frame rates and in widescreen.
