MegaManX3SNESRecomp
What you need: A ROM of Mega Man X3 (USA), dumped from your own cartridge.
MegaManX3SNESRecomp is a native port of Mega Man X3 for Windows and Linux, made by static recompilation with mstan’s snesrecomp. Code the static pass cannot handle falls back to the interpreter, and the SNES graphics and sound hardware are emulated.
It boots and runs live gameplay, and an optional widescreen package is included. Earlier releases fixed a fall through the floor in widescreen and a slowdown in the Doppler fight. The author says AI tools were used heavily in making it.
It is an early release with little testing so far. The Linux download is an older build than the Windows one. The download contains no game data. It needs Mega Man X3 (USA), dumped from your own cartridge.
How to set it up
- Download the Windows zip or the Linux AppImage.
- Windows: extract the whole zip and run
MegaManX3SNESRecomp.exe. Linux: make the AppImage executable and run it. - Pick your ROM when asked.
- The Mega Man X3 widescreen package is optional and off by default.
