MegaManXSNESRecomp
What you need: A ROM of Mega Man X (USA) (Rev 1), dumped from your own cartridge.
MegaManXSNESRecomp is a native port of Mega Man X for Windows and Linux, made by static recompilation with mstan’s snesrecomp. The main CPU code runs as generated C where it can be proven, with an interpreter underneath, and the SNES graphics and sound hardware are emulated.
An adaptive widescreen mod shows more of each stage at fixed 16:9, 21:9 or 32:9 or fitted to the window, with the HUD anchored to the edges. Other options include password saves that remember the last password, save states with a browser, rewind and controller support. The launcher can be reopened mid-game to change settings. The author says AI tools were used heavily in making it.
The author lists it as fully playable: it has been finished on Windows, and a tester completed it on a Steam Deck. The download contains no game data. It needs Mega Man X (USA) (Rev 1), dumped from your own cartridge.
