F-Zero
F-Zero is a futuristic racing game developed and published by Nintendo, released with the Super Famicom in Japan in 1990 and with the Super NES in North America in 1991. Four pilots, including Captain Falcon, race hovering machines around tracks across three leagues in the year 2560.
The game used the SNES’s Mode 7 to scale and rotate its flat tracks, which gave a strong sense of speed. Each machine has a power meter that falls when it hits walls or other cars and refills in the pit area.
A native PC port exists: FZeroSNESRecomp, a static recompilation by mstan.
