DKC3Recomp

What you need: A ROM of Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! (USA, En/Fr), unheadered, dumped from your own cartridge.

DKC3Recomp is a native port of Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong’s Double Trouble! for Windows and Apple silicon Macs, made by static recompilation with snesrecomp in the same way as DKC2Recomp. Code the analysis cannot prove runs through the shared 65816 interpreter, and the SNES graphics and sound hardware are emulated.

Levels can be shown wider at 16:10, 16:9 or about 21:9, with the extra scenery rebuilt from the game’s own level maps, and the Windows build has fullscreen and window scaling options.

The author describes it as a bring-up: widescreen is verified on some levels only. The macOS download is an older build. The download contains no game data. It needs Donkey Kong Country 3 (USA, En/Fr), dumped from your own cartridge.

How to set it up

1. Download the Windows zip or the macOS (Apple silicon, macOS 26 or newer) zip and extract the whole folder.
2. Run DKC3Recomp.exe on Windows or the app on macOS. Keep the bundled files next to it.
3. Pick your ROM when asked.
