Super Mario Bros.
Super Mario Bros. is a platform game developed and published by Nintendo for the Famicom in Japan in 1985 and for the NES in North America the same year. Mario, or Luigi as the second player, runs through eight worlds of the Mushroom Kingdom to rescue Princess Toadstool from Bowser.
Its side-scrolling levels, power-ups such as the Super Mushroom and Fire Flower, and hidden warp zones set the template for the genre. It was bundled with the NES in North America and is one of the best-selling games ever made.
