GumshoeNESRecomp

What you need: A ROM of Gumshoe (USA, Europe), dumped from your own cartridge.

GumshoeNESRecomp is a native Windows port of Gumshoe, made by static recompilation with mstan’s nesrecomp, which translates the game’s 6502 code into C.

The mouse stands in for the NES Zapper: move it to aim and click to shoot, with a crosshair on screen. It has save states. The author says AI tools were used heavily in making it.

The author lists it as playable from start to end. The download contains no game data. It needs Gumshoe (USA, Europe), dumped from your own cartridge.

How to set it up

1. Download the Windows zip and extract it.
2. Run GumshoeRecomp.exe and pick your ROM when asked. The path is remembered for later launches.
3. Remap keys in keybinds.ini, which is created next to the program on first run. F6 and F7 save and load states.
4. Aim with the mouse and click to shoot.
