Nintendulator is an open source NES emulator for Windows, written in C++. Its goal is to emulate the console down to its hardware quirks, so it can reproduce game behaviour that less accurate emulators miss.

That accuracy made it demanding when it was new, needing a processor of about 1.5GHz, which is no problem for any modern computer.

Unlike emulators that build mapper support into the main program, Nintendulator loads mappers from separate DLL files. Alongside its accuracy it offers Game Genie cheats, movie recording and playback, AVI capture and a debugger with basic breakpoint support.
