Nestopia UE

Nestopia UE (Undead Edition) is an open source NES and Famicom emulator that carries on the original Nestopia, which Martin Freij stopped developing in 2008. It keeps Nestopia’s cycle-accurate core and adds fixes, new mapper support and database entries, and it also emulates the Famicom Disk System and VS. System.

The emulation core is now developed as Nestopia JG under the Jolly Good Emulation project, which has become the main upstream for Nestopia’s code. From version 2.0.0 the standalone emulator uses the QTea frontend and is built the same way on every platform, with releases for Windows, macOS (Apple Silicon) and Linux (as a .deb package). The older Windows-only version with the classic interface is still kept in the Nestopia UE repository.

Nestopia UE is released under the GPL v2 (or later) licence. Famicom Disk System games need the disksys.rom BIOS file.
