melonDS
melonDS is an open source Nintendo DS emulator started in 2016 by Arisotura. Its goal is fast and accurate DS emulation, and its core, covering the CPU, video and audio, is nearly complete. It is released under the GPL version 3.
Beyond the core, melonDS has a JIT recompiler for speed, an OpenGL renderer with 3D upscaling, save states, joystick support, and emulation of the real-time clock, microphone and closing the lid. Local wireless multiplayer and online connectivity, DSi emulation and GBA slot add-ons are available but still being worked on.
Firmware boot needs BIOS and firmware dumps from a real DS or DS Lite, although games can also be booted directly. Official builds are available for Windows, macOS, Linux and the BSDs, and melonDS is still in active development.
