SS Anne
What you need: A ROM of Pokémon Stadium (USA) v1.0, dumped from your own cartridge. Rev A (v1.1) is not compatible.
SS Anne, released as Pokémon Stadium Recompiled, is a native Windows port of Pokémon Stadium made by static recompilation with N64Recomp and drawn with RT64. It builds on the pret Pokémon Stadium disassembly.
It emulates the Transfer Pak, so the game can read and save back a party from your own Game Boy Pokémon cartridge dumps, Red through Crystal, for up to four players. The built-in GB Tower plays Pokémon Red, Blue and Yellow. A launcher assigns controllers and cartridges to each player before the game starts, and anti-aliasing is on by default. Notes in the repository show the author worked with the AI coding tools Claude and Codex on it.
The author stopped maintaining it in August 2026. The releases stay up, but known issues will not be fixed, and a full cup or Gym Leader Castle run has not been tested end to end. The download contains no game data. It needs Pokémon Stadium (USA) v1.0, dumped from your own cartridge.
How to set it up
- Download the Windows zip and extract it.
- Run
PokemonStadiumRecomp.exe. The README says antivirus warnings about the unsigned build are false positives. - On first launch a file picker opens: choose your ROM (
.z64,.n64or.v64). The path is remembered inrom.cfg. - In the SS Anne launcher, give each player slot a controller, and optionally your own Game Boy Pokémon ROM and save for the Transfer Pak, then press PLAY.
- If it closes at launch, update your GPU drivers or set the environment variable
PSR_GRAPHICS_API=vulkan.
