Pilotwings 64: Recompiled is a native port of Pilotwings 64 for Windows and Linux. It is made with N64Recomp from the Pilotwings 64 decompilation and draws the game with RT64, so it runs directly on your computer rather than through an emulator.
It fills the screen at your display’s aspect ratio with the HUD moved to the edges, runs at up to your display’s refresh rate through interpolation, removes the black overscan border and skips the long pauses some menus had on the cartridge. A launcher covers graphics, sound, controls, remapping and mods. The author says AI tools were used heavily in making it.
It is an early release. The download contains no game data: it needs a ROM of Pilotwings 64 (USA), dumped from your own cartridge.
How to set it up
- Download the build for your system and extract it.
- Windows: run
Pilotwings64Recomp.exe. Linux: runPilotwings64Recomp.sh. - Pick your ROM in the launcher. It can be a
