ambar, pdk and lepascals’ Mario Kart 64 texture pack covers a few of the tracks with realistic textures, such as the sand, rock, wooden fences and railway lines of Kalimari Desert. By their own admission, the artists took images from Google and placed them over the original textures.
Because the textures are photographs rather than artwork made for the game, some parts look noticeably out of place next to the untouched cartoon textures.
