Project Midas is a native PC port of GoldenEye 007, built from the N64 decompilation of the game for Windows, Linux and the Steam Deck. The game's code is compiled for the PC and reads its levels, models, textures and sounds from the player's own US cartridge dump, so the download carries no game data of its own.

It plays with mouse and keyboard or up to four controllers, including N64 pads through a raphnet adapter, and every button can be rebound per controller. The picture can be widened to widescreen and the frame rate raised to 120 FPS or uncapped, with MSAA, anisotropic filtering and a choice of 3D resolution. A Classic Mode brings back the N64 look on request: low resolution, the console's frame pacing and load hitches, composite video and the N64's own antialiasing.

Multiplayer adds saved player profiles with lifetime stats, custom weapon sets and saved match settings. The author describes the port as a work in progress, with co-op, netplay and mod loading under way. Version 1.0.1 bundles SDL2 with the Linux build and fixes keyboard input on Wayland.

## How to set it up

1. Download the `.7z` for Windows, Linux or Steam Deck and extract it into a folder of its own.
2. Put your GoldenEye 007 (USA) ROM in the `Data` folder next to the game. `Data/README.txt` lists the formats it accepts.
3. Run `ProjectMidas.exe` on Windows or `ProjectMidas` on Linux and Steam Deck.
4. Settings are saved to `midas.ini` next to the game; delete it to go back to the defaults.
