Duke Nukem 64 is a port of 3D Realms' PC game Duke Nukem 3D, and brought the series to the Nintendo 64 for the first time.

The port made several changes of its own. The game was censored, which removed some content and renamed many in-game items to remove drug and sex references.

Content from the PC game's expansion pack was also merged into the base game, so some levels were modified to include material that was not originally there. The levels were played in sequence rather than split into episodes.

The final boss was also turned into a full 3D model. Duke Nukem 3D as a whole was a huge success, selling over 3.5 million copies, though it is hard to tell how many of those were the Nintendo 64 version.
