simple64

simple64 is a Nintendo 64 emulator developed by Logan McNaughton. It is built on its own fork of the mupen64plus core, combined with a Qt interface and the low-level parallel-RDP and parallel-RSP plugins, with a focus on accurate emulation.

The project is no longer developed. Its repository has been archived, and the last release, 2024.12.1, came out in December 2024. Official builds were provided for Windows, with a Linux version distributed through Flathub. It is licensed under the GNU GPL version 3.

The developer now works on gopher64, a new N64 emulator, and recommends it as the replacement. For features that gopher64 lacks, Rosalie’s Mupen GUI is another maintained emulator based on mupen64plus.
