What you need: A ROM of Pokémon Red or Blue for the Game Boy, dumped from your own cartridge.

Pokémon Red and Blue Recomp is a native Windows port of Pokémon Red and Blue, made by mstan by statically recompiling the Game Boy's SM83 code into C, with the Game Boy video and sound emulated around it.

It is playable from the start through the Elite Four. It is an early release, so expect rough edges.

The author says AI tools were used heavily in making it.

The download contains no game data. It needs a Pokémon Red or Blue ROM, dumped from your own cartridge.

## How to set it up

1. Download the Windows zip and extract it.
2. Run `Pokemon_Red_Blue.exe` and point it at your Pokémon Red or Blue ROM.
3. Save files are written next to the executable.
