GBE+ is a Game Boy, Game Boy Color and GBA emulator written by Shonumi. It is the successor to his earlier emulator, GB Enhanced. The project is written in C++ using SDL, and aims to be highly portable while offering features not usually found in Game Boy and GBA emulators. It also aims to document how the hardware works through clean, easy to understand code.

The Game Boy Color emulation is the most complete part of the project, while GBA emulation has historically been less mature, running most games with varying levels of glitches.

GBE+'s standout feature is custom graphics. It can dump sprites and backgrounds straight out of a game, let you edit them, and then load the edited versions back into the game as it runs. This lets you change the look of a game without ROM hacking. Almost anything visible on screen can be edited, which means you can even add colour to games that were originally monochrome.

Shonumi has also used GBE+ to emulate many obscure accessories and peripherals for the first time, and the project continues to receive new releases.
