Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories
Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories was developed by Square Enix and Jupiter and released for the Game Boy Advance in 2004. Set straight after the first Kingdom Hearts, it follows Sora, Donald and Goofy into Castle Oblivion, where each floor is a world rebuilt from Sora’s memories, which slip away the higher he climbs. A second story, Reverse/Rebirth, follows Riku.
Its battles run in real time but use cards: attacks, magic, items and summons are played from a deck, and cards can be stacked into sleights. Map cards build the rooms of each floor.
A port built on the game’s decompilation runs it natively.
