NanoBoyAdvance is an open source Game Boy Advance emulator that aims to be as accurate as possible. Most of the hardware, including the CPU, DMA, timers, graphics and cartridge prefetch, is emulated with cycle accuracy, and it was the first public emulator to pass all of the AGS aging cartridge tests.

It also offers enhancements, such as a high-quality audio mixer for games using Nintendo’s MusicPlayer2000 sound engine, colour correction, xBRZ upscaling and LCD ghosting. Other features include ten save state slots, controller support, loading ROMs from archives, real-time clock and solar sensor emulation, and graphics viewers for debugging.

A Game Boy Advance BIOS is needed, either dumped from a console or an open source replacement. Builds are available for Windows, macOS on Apple Silicon and Linux. NanoBoyAdvance is licensed under the GPL version 3, and development has moved from GitHub to Codeberg.
