> BatGBA is an early, long-discontinued GBA emulator. It needed the GBA BIOS to run some games, though work had started on emulating the BIOS itself.

BatGBA is an early and now outdated GBA emulator. It was one of the first emulators to make real progress with the GBA, but like several emulators of its time it required the GBA BIOS.

Its emulation was never fully developed. Newer versions were working towards removing the need for a BIOS file by emulating the BIOS within BatGBA itself, but development stopped before this was finished.

BatGBA was soon overtaken by emulators such as Visual Boy Advance. If you want a stable and fast GBA emulator, mGBA or Visual Boy Advance-M are far better choices.
