Super Mario Sunshine Painted Edition
This is a texture pack by Ty Anderson. He also had a Twilight Princess, and Luigi’s Mansion one but they are long gone. I was lucky enough to have this pack in my possession. This texture pack isn’t even up for download no more. The dude’s blog and Facebook have been deleted, and I can’t find any download links, that’s why I’m posting it here. In all honesty, this is the best-looking texture pack out there for Super Mario Sunshine. I just love the art style, It reminds me of Yoshi’s Island. It’s very artistic and obviously, a lot of work was put into creating this style of textures. There are still 44 textures that haven’t been converted to the newer texture format though, and there are also what looks to be some unused textures. I spent my whole day and did my best to convert the textures to the new format. The creator never fully completed the pack either, there are some empty folders. Give this pack a go! It looks amazing at 4K with both the 16:9 and 60 fps gecko codes. Also, if anyone would like, please contribute to this texture pack. I’m not a texture artist. This pack isn’t 100% completed and a pack of this caliber deserves to be completed.
How to set it up
- In Dolphin, open File > Open User Folder, then go into
Load/Textures/. - Extract the download there, so you end up with a
Load/Textures/GMS/folder. - Open Graphics > Advanced and tick Load Custom Textures. Ticking Prefetch Custom Textures too stops stutter, if you have the RAM for it.
