Super Mario Strikers

Super Mario Strikers is a football game developed by Next Level Games and published by Nintendo for the GameCube in 2005. It was released in Europe as Mario Smash Football.

Teams of five, a Mario character as captain and four sidekicks, play on pitches with electric fences instead of touchlines. Tackles are rough, items such as shells and bananas can be thrown at opponents, and a charged Super Strike scores two goals at once. It has cups, a Super Cup mode and multiplayer for up to four players. Its sequel, Mario Strikers Charged, came to the Wii in 2007.
