Overview
Metroid Prime’s realistic art style is hard to upscale: textures tend to come out either too soft or full of artefacts. Venomalia built this pack with HDCube, an ESRGAN model Venomalia trained specifically for GameCube and Wii textures, to get sharper detail without those problems.
The pack covers the first Metroid Prime. It holds textures for both the GameCube release and the Wii Metroid Prime Trilogy version, and Dolphin recognises them whichever one is loaded, with no folders to rename.
A graphics card with DirectX 11 support is required.
How to Set It Up
- In Dolphin, open File > Open User Folder, then go into
Load/Textures/. - Extract the download there, so you end up with a
Load/Textures/GM8/folder (orR3M/for another release). - Open Graphics > Advanced and tick Load Custom Textures. Ticking Prefetch Custom Textures too stops stutter, if you have the RAM for it.
