Metroid Prime

Metroid Prime is an action adventure developed by Retro Studios and published by Nintendo for the GameCube in 2002. It moved the Metroid series into 3D with a first-person view, while keeping its exploration and gradual collection of new abilities.

Samus Aran answers a distress call and follows the Space Pirates to the planet Tallon IV, where they are experimenting with a mutagen called Phazon. She scans creatures and objects for clues and lore, switches between visors, and rolls up into the Morph Ball to reach hidden areas. It was very well received and was followed by two sequels and a remaster on the Switch in 2023.
