Dusklight
What you need: A disc image of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for GameCube or Wii (any region except the Korean Wii release), dumped from your own disc.
Dusklight, formerly called Dusk, is a native port of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for Windows, Linux, macOS and Android, built from the zeldaret decompilation of the game and drawn with Aurora, a GameCube and Wii compatibility layer. It has builds for x64 and ARM64 and needs a GPU with Direct3D 12, Vulkan 1.1 or Metal, with best-effort Direct3D 11 and OpenGL ES fallbacks for older devices.
It aims to stay accurate to the original while adding options, enhancements and tools, and the download includes a randomizer mod. It is one of the most downloaded native ports, with well over a million downloads. The project does not accept contributions that are mainly written by AI.
Because the decompilation is of the GameCube version, you get the GameCube HUD and layout even when you play from a Wii disc. The download contains no game data. It needs a GameCube or Wii disc of Twilight Princess, any region except the Korean Wii release, dumped from your own copy.
How to set it up
- Download the build for your system: Windows, Linux (AppImage), macOS or Android, each for x64 or ARM64 where offered.
