Space Giraffe

Space Giraffe
Released: 2007
Console: Xbox 360
Developer: Llamasoft

Space Giraffe is a shoot ’em up by Jeff Minter and Ivan Zorzin of Llamasoft, released on Xbox Live Arcade in 2007. Like Minter’s Tempest 2000 it takes place on the rim of geometric webs, but with different rules.

The giraffe can push enemies off the web while its power zone is charged, and the dense, colourful visuals come from Minter’s Neon light synthesiser. Its difficulty in reading the screen made it one of the most divisive games on the service.

A native port of the Xbox 360 version, made by static recompilation, runs on Windows and Linux.
